foundation of a new discipline

i gave a presentation on wednesday at the institute of design's annual recruit id event. we bring in professionals involved in design and innovation around the country and treat them to an afternoon of thoughtful presentations and dialog. the following day, they have an opportunity to recruit id students.

my presentation was about the core skills of design, with a capital d, and how they could form the basis of a new discipline. i received much feedback and thought i'd post them here. i can only assume they lose something without the charismatic presentation, but if you have any thoughts about the ideas inside, please drop me a comment or two. download the file: a new kind of professional
